1- Sift flour on clean, dry bench-top.
2- Make a small well in centre of flour, add egg, softened margarine, icing sugar, vanilla sugar, almonds, baking powder and salt. Knead into a dough.
3- Allow dough to rest for 10 - 15 minutes.
4- Shape tablespoons of mixture into cresent shapes. Place on lined baking tray.
5- Bake in a moderate oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
6- Remove from oven and let stand for a few minutes before transferring to wire rack.
7- While still warm, dust with icing sugar. Before serving, dust with plenty of icing sugar again.
