The most important humanistic and Islamic-mystic philosopher Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi's
tomb and the cult center is located in Konya, a central Anatolian province of Turkey.
Built in the 14th century, this complex was also the center for the religious order
of whirling dervishes and a place housing priceless works of art.
Mevlana's mystic order has has a major influence on Islam in Anatolia ever since the
13th century. An inscription on one of the walls in Mevlana complex reflects his
philosophical thought as him being one of the earliest humanists and a most tolerant
religious leader of his time saying :
