Italian cuisine Italy is a country of great diversity nearly in every facet of life and food is one of them. The long Mediterranean coastline of Italy encloses a picturesque landscape of fertile plains, arid rocks and forest-covered mountains. Finally, nearly all Italian dishes are high in vegetables and carbohydrates and low in animal fat. Especially, when it is accompanied with a nice bottle of red Italian wine, it is probably the best known approach to a health conscious life-style without sacrificing from pleasure.
