A large migration wave swept
Anatolia starting from the 13th centuryB.C. Some barbaric tribes,
mainly from the Balkans region, came into western and central
Anatolia and destroyed the existing native civilizations. Troia
VI and Hittites were among the first victims.
During the next 400 years, Anatolia sunk into a dark age. Writing became extinct. Original cultures of Troia VI and Hittites were lost forever. Even the traditional art of ceramics lost its high ground.
The ceramic artifacts before and during this age of Anatolia are on display in the Istanbul Archaeology Museum today.
