THE MICHAEL CHURCH AND THE TEMPLE OF DIONYSOS (Miletus)

The temple of Dionysos was built in the 3rd century B.C. and the Michael church in the 6th century A.D. on the remains of the temple.

The church was in basilica form. It became a church and a palace for bishops in the 6th century A.D.

The floor was covered by mosaics and tiles. The walls were covered by a tile roof.

The only remains today are three channels, 27 m x 13 m, seperated by six columns, and two small rooms. The bishops' palace is also in semi-standing form, 30 m x 7 m.
